Portavogie Rangers will travel to Parkway to face Comber Rec in the second round of the 2026–27 Clearer Water Irish Cup.
The tie is scheduled for Saturday 12 September, with kick-off at 1:30pm.
Rangers received a bye through the opening round, while Comber secured their place with a convincing 6–1 victory away to Bloomfield.
Our opponents currently compete in the NAFL Premier Division and finished fourth last season, winning 13 of their 26 league matches and scoring 53 goals.
Comber have carried that attacking form into the new campaign. A 4–0 victory away to Dunmurry YM was followed by their six-goal Irish Cup win at Bloomfield and a 2–1 league success over Lisburn Rangers. At the time of the draw, that gives them three victories from three competitive fixtures, with 12 goals scored and only two conceded.
Portavogie have also responded well following an opening-day defeat at Suffolk. Rangers recorded a 2–0 victory away to Ballywalter Rec before producing an impressive 5–1 win over Ballynahinch United at New Harbour Road.
Those back-to-back victories provide a positive platform as we prepare for the weeks ahead. The trip to Comber will represent a significant test against Premier Division opposition, but it is also exactly the type of occasion that makes the Irish Cup special.
There is plenty of football to be played before the tie, but the players and management team will look forward to the challenge and the opportunity to represent Portavogie Rangers on the national cup stage.
We hope to see a strong travelling support at Parkway, getting behind the team from the first whistle.
Further match and admission information will be announced closer to the date.
