Portavogie Rangers will travel to face Ballynahinch Olympic in the first round of the 2026–27 McComb’s Coach Travel Intermediate Cup.

The tie is scheduled for Saturday the 10th of October, with kick-off at 1:30pm.

The draw pairs Rangers with a side currently competing one division above us in NAFL Division 1B. Olympic finished eighth last season after recording 11 victories from their 26 league matches.

Their new campaign began with a 6–1 defeat against Killyleagh YC, but they responded with a 1–0 victory over Dundonald, showing the resilience Rangers can expect from the home side.

Portavogie have also responded strongly to an opening-day setback this season. Following a 3–1 defeat at Suffolk, Rangers recorded back-to-back victories: a 2–0 win away to Ballywalter Rec and an impressive 5–1 success over Ballynahinch United at New Harbour Road.

Those results have given Rangers six points from their opening three Division 1C fixtures, with eight goals scored. Although plenty of football will be played before the cup tie arrives, the early performances provide a positive platform on which to build.

Olympic’s higher-division experience will make this a demanding assignment, but knockout football offers Rangers an opportunity to test themselves and approach the occasion with confidence.

We hope to see a strong Portavogie support making the journey and getting behind the boys.

Further match information will be announced closer to the date.
